Fishing trip to Bjerkebu

17 - 19. October 2025

A group of seven enthusiastic BSI members went up to Bjerkebu to test their fishing luck.

We headed to Ryggvellevatnet and fished there for about two hours, managing to catch six trout for dinner. It must have been one of the last chances to fish there this year, as the ice had already begun to cover parts of the lake. The best success came from the tip reaching into the lake from the south side. Arne and Lukas finally manged to break their curse of leading unsuccessful fishing trips, what a relief! No fish were caught in Seltuftvatnet or Reinungavatnet.

We wrapped up the day with a great dinner and a round of Catan, where Oliver and Lukas dominated the competition.

On Sunday we meet met by two additional participants who joined for the hike through Ugjersdalen to Uppsete — stunning nature, a great trail, snow, and sunshine all in one day! Most of the group decided to lay in the sun by the lake and relax instead of trying to fish more. The bunch of the group took the train back to Bergen, while two participants returned the next day to fix the cabin roof.

Thank you everyone for a great trip!
