Fra bakke til bakke på ski ved Voss

The plan of this trip was to go from Voss all the way towards Myrkdalen in three days, with two cabin stays on the way (Volahytta & Torvedalshytta). Since the weather conditions on Saturday were very poor, we decided to spend two nights at Volahytta.
We started our trip on a sunny Friday afternoon when we took the cable car up to Hangurstoppen where we put on our fjellskis and made our way towards the mountain top Lønahorgi. When we arrived at the last T-bar lift, one of us asked very nicely if we could use the lift without a ticket. We were allowed and it probably saved us almost an hour
Halfway up we took a lunch break at a smaller cabin before continuing to the top. The snow was very soft and the sun was shining the entire time. The last kilometers before the cabin proved to be a bit more challenging than expected. It was getting dark, as the frozen lake Nedsta Piksvatnet had a much lower level than on the map, which led to a much more hilly route. We finally arrived in the darkness, where we met two Germans that already warmed the cabin for us. We had tacos for dinner and went to bed quite tired from the long 19 km trip.
The next day, it was super terrible weather. We went out for a shorter trip, but it was so windy and foggy that we were happy to be back at the cabin.
We stayed inside, playing games, reading books and having dinner in the evening.
On Sunday, we left the cabin quite early after breakfast, but we were much faster on the way back. We found a route that was a bit shorter on the southern end of the Nedsta Piksvatnet and made the train in the early afternoon already! Again, we were lucky as we had perfect weather again on our last day!
