Randonee trip to Sogndal
4 - 6. April 2025
The weekend, eight BSI skiers hit the road for a 5-hour drive to Sogndal and Hurrungane, chasing snow and mountain views. And we found it.
Friday: We kicked things off with Vangsen in Jostedalen. The ascent had some slightly sketchy hard-packed sections, but we made it up and were rewarded with beautiful views and surprisingly great snow on the way down. The evening equaled cozying up with blankets, beers and fjord views from the balcony. Not bad at all.
Saturday: It was time to go to Hurrungane. We went for Lauvnostinden — and so did half of Norway. The climb up felt quite long for some of us, due to tired bodies from the day before, but we all made it to the top and got treated to a seriously stunning panorama. In the evening we had a pizza party with tons of homemade pizza and Italian music.
Sunday: The last day we decided to go to Grøndalseggi. With the clock ticking, we split into two groups: one chasing the top and one taking it chill. However, the “chill” crew got hit with FOMO halfway and decided to push through, so eventually everyone made it to the top with plenty of time to enjoy the sun and the views. Skiing down was very warm with full-on Easter vibes.
After three solid days in the mountains, it was time to head back to Bergen with sore legs, renewed energy, and quite a few blisters.
