Glacier trip with WildVoss

05 - 07. September 2025

On Friday, we drove to Jostedal camping and ate Friday tacos before meeting with the guides Carlos and Rasmus from Wildvoss. We talked about the plans for the weekend and went over our gear, checking that everyone had what they needed. Early Saturday morning we drove for a few minutes and then hiked to Nigårdsbreen and had a full day on the glacier with great weather. We started with learning how to walk with crampons, how to use an ice axe and how we tie ourselves onto the rope. Throughout the day we learned how to secure each other in steep terrain and navigate the complex landscape. We got to see some amazing formations and even got to try some ice climbing!

On Sunday we spent the day on Fåbergstølsbreen. The goal of the day was to get as close to the glacier plateau as possible, but we had to turn around earlier than planned because of the difficult terrain. Instead, we spent the rest of the day practicing how to secure ourselves when walking in such difficult terrain. We then walked back down to the cars and had a feedback session before driving the long way back to Bergen. The weather and the company couldn't have been better!

Takk for turen!
