Even though the semester will be over at this point, we do want to offer a long and scenic hike around the glacier between Hardangervidda and Finse. We will depart from Bergen (or you could join coming from Oslo) by train on Thursday afternoon and spend the first night at Finse DNT. On Fri day, we will rise very early as we have about 27km of distance to cover to reach Kjeldebu.
On Saturday, we will cover the next 22km to Rembedalseter, our final night on this trip. On Sunday, we will begin with a steep climb, then cross a rough, rocky landscape for about 20km, until we reach Finse in the afternoon. Over the 3 days of hiking we cover a total of 1500m up and 1500m down in elevation. If you’d like to join, you need to be comfortable hiking long days at a fairly fast pace. Large sections of this trail could still be covered by hard snow, and not all bridges might be up, meaning cold, refreshing river crossings. Either way, we will have a lot of sunlight and hopefully amazing views.
